American singer-songwriter Martin Sexton, who last year released his ninth studio album, follows with a performance on Saturday at 8 p.m. First up is Broadway star Jelani Remy, who will perform pop and musical theater songs on Friday at 8 p.m. The Music Hall hosts a pair of socially-distanced live concerts at the historic theater in Portsmouth this weekend. Presented by Pontine Theatre, tickets are $24-$27. Rule, who has been telling stories around New England for more than 30 years, will share some of her favorites on Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 3 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m. Local humorist and storyteller Rebecca Rule will present an online program titled “New Stories, Old Stories, the Best Stories I Know - Because it’s February in New Hampshire” this weekend. On Sunday at 4 p.m., playwright Don Zolidis offers Playwriting – An Introduction, touching on the basics of dramatic form, situations, characters, and dialogue. On Friday at 7 p.m., mixologist Jim Maldonis presents Mixology Intermediate, teaching participants how to make two cocktails: the Negroni and the Mai Tai. The Word Barn Makers Series continues with two online workshops this weekend. The next week brings workshops, storytelling, concerts, and other entertainment options to local screens and venues.
